Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao is an amazing person. He founded a number of F&B outlets to create job opportunities for his family, friends and young people. He is also an animal lover who advocates pet adoption and he has six dogs and four cats, all of which are strays in his SGD9mil mansion.
If you think that his good qualities stop there, Hsiao recently shared an interesting bit of information about his past during a recent interview. He revealed that back when he was still in school, he began working at a steak house with his friends.
Hsiao worked there not because of the money but because he wanted to accompany his friends while they worked for pocket money. He was asked to serve tables but he found it “too awkward” so he requested to wash dishes instead.
It all went well for Hsiao until his pals suddenly decided to quit as they found the work too challenging. Hsiao, who was the last of his group of friends left at the F&B outlet also then decided to quit less than a month after he first started work there.
He explained, “It wasn’t because I found the job too difficult for me. After the others quit, I was really bored because I was alone. Plus, I don’t think the job suited me, so I decided to resign.” He felt so bad about tendering his resignation so soon after he started that he didn’t even quibble over the fact that he wouldn’t get paid for his time at the steak house.
Netizens were quick to heap praise on the singer, whom they think is “too nice”. One shared, “If he was scrubbing hot plates at the steak house, the boss should have paid him a token sum at the very least. Washing dishes isn’t easy, and scrubbing hot plates is even tougher!” Another quipped, “I wonder if the owner knows that the kid that he ripped off years ago is now a worldwide superstar. Imagine if Jam walks into his restaurant one day for a meal. If I were the owner, I’d be so nervous that I wouldn’t be able to look him in the eye.”

The look of love! Kristin Cavallari and Jeff Dye were spotted on a romantic date in Nashville, one month after they were spotted kissing in Chicago, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. According to an eyewitness, the pair were seen dining at “uber trendy” spot Bastion on Thursday, November 5, where the Very Cavallari alum, 33, complimented the staff on their duck pastrami dish. “At one point during the intimate dinner, Kristin was seen leaning into Jeff and giving him a long kiss,” the eyewitness tells Us exclusively. “The couple had a very upbeat night with a lot of laughs.” Later in the night, the Uncommon James designer and the comedian, 37, shared a laugh with two guys at the bar, one of whom Cavallari previously went on a date with, the source adds. “When Kristin used the restroom, Jeff only had eyes for her at the trendy spot,” the source says. Despite their PDA, the duo’s relationship isn’t “going to go anywhere series,” the insider adds. “Kristin and Jeff just have a casual dating situation going on. She’s not in the zone to move forward with a full-blown relationship of that level and is just keeping herself preoccupied and having fun.” An insider told Us last month that the Laguna Beach alum, who was first linked to Dye in early October, “isn’t trying to get serious right away” after her split from Jay Cutler six months prior. “Kristin and Jeff are totally a thing,” the insider told Us at the time. “She loves to laugh and Jeff is obviously so funny and playful. He is making her life lighter through this transition and deterring her away from feeling upset. Jeff has helped put her in a good headspace and he is stoked on her and thinks she’s so beautiful and sexy.” The Better Late Than Never star, who has been flirting with Cavallari on social media since the summer, was also overheard discussing his Nashville Thanksgiving plans with the actress on Thursday. The True Comfort author, who shares three children, sons Camden, 8, and Jaxon, 6, and daughter Saylor, 4, with Cutler, 37, previously told Us that she plans to spend the holiday with her kids and ex “as a family.” The Hills alum added: “I’m looking forward to that. I’m happy that we’re able to spend it together and have these conversations even though we’re in the middle of getting a divorce. So, I’m thankful for where we’re currently at.” The reality star and the former NFL quarterback announced their split in April after 10 years together and seven years of marriage. Last month, Cavallari told Us that she’s “feeling really good” amid the breakup, noting that she found the adjustment to be “pretty smooth.” Scroll down to see exclusive photos from the couple’s cozy date night.
With every popular show comes a fair share of backlash. Ever since the 2005 debut of Dancing With the Stars, fans have been very vocal about what they do and don’t like — and who deserves to be on the show. One of the biggest shakeups came ahead in July 2020 when Tom Bergeron announced that after hosting the show since the series premiere, he was axed from the show, along with cohost Erin Andrews. The sportscaster had joined him in 2014 and the duo quickly became fan favorites. “As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success,” ABC and BBC said in a statement at the time. “Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom. Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a contestant back in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show.” The show’s executive producer Andrew Llinares later opened up about the decision to cut Andrews and Bergeron and cast Tyra Banks as their replacement. “I think it’s all about evolution. I think any show like this that has been on many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve,” he told reporters in September 2020. “I think changing the host was all about evolution, it was about making the show feel fresh, making it feel new [and] kind of make it reach out — maybe to a new audience as well, as well as the audience that’s been there for years.” The hosts aren’t the only ones to start a controversy on the show! The judges, the pros and the celebrities have also made many headlines through the years. Scroll through the gallery below for some of the biggest moments.

Back to normal? Not so much, but NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox and The CW are doing their best to bring back some of the most-anticipated shows of the year. However, as shown on the full schedule below, many of the network’s biggest programs have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. NBC shared that the following shows are moving to midseason, which means they’ll premiere in the winter: Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Good Girls, Kenan, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Making It, Manifest, Mr. Mayor, New Amsterdam, Small Fortune, That’s My Jam, True Story, Who Do You Think You Are?, Young Rock and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Although New Amsterdam won’t premiere until months down the line, the show, based on New York City’s Bellevue Hospital, will still be addressing the pandemic “head-on,” executive producer and showrunner David Schulner told Us Weekly exclusively last month. “The target of ‘how’ is constantly moving. New York City was once the epicenter of the outbreak and now it’s one of the few cities in the country headed in the right direction. What will it look like when we start shooting? What will it look like when we air? We don’t want to depict a reality that has already passed, nor do we want to predict a future that never comes,” he shared at the time. “What we decided to do is to write now, even though now is already gone. As we get closer to shooting we’ll make adjustments to whatever the new now maybe.” As for CBS’ lineup, Blood & Treasure, Clarice and Survivor have all been held for midseason. ABC announced $100,000 Pyramid, American Idol, Call Your Mother, For Life and mixed-ish will premiere in the winter, but as you’ll see on the schedule below, their scripted originals including Grey’s Anatomy, A Million Little Things and Station 19, are pushed from the schedule. While the network is hopeful they will get to premiere them in the fall, no announcement has been made yet. The same move has been made by Fox, as 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Duncanville, Call Me Kat, The Great North, Hell’s Kitchen and Housebroken have been postponed. It’s likely that The Resident, Prodigal Son and Last Man Standing will be as well. The CW has pushed back most of their high-rated shows, with the exception of Supernatural. All American, Black Lightning, The Flash, Superman & Lois, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, Legacies, Walker, Batwoman and Charmed are all delayed until January. Scroll through the gallery below for each network’s premiere dates.
