Thanks to the coronavirus, music fans can only dream about live concerts and festivals right now.
Still, at least they still have albums – and three of the biggest K-pop acts around have new releases out this autumn.
From the long-awaited debut from K-pop’s biggest girl group to new albums from the scene’s biggest boy bands, here are three K-pop albums that are sure to storm the charts all over the world.
This K-pop supergroup comprises members of boy bands Exo, Shinee, NCT127 and WayV. SuperM made an instant splash around 12 months ago with their techno-pop debut single Jopping, which hit No 1 on Billboard’s US World Digital Songs chart.
Their recent high-energy singles 100 and Tiger Inside paved the way for last week’s release of debut album “Super One”, which contains 15 tracks ranging from R&B and electropop to reggae.

Since they became the first K-pop girl group to perform at US festival Coachella in April 2019, Blackpink have been expected to take over the US charts. However, a turbulent 18 months delayed their debut album, as various scandals engulfed their South Korean music label YG and the coronavirus put a stop to touring.
Now, fans are finally about to hear their full-length rap- and electro-pop-influenced debut, “Blackpink: The Album”. Preceded by the hit singles How You Like That? and the Selena Gomez collaboration Ice Cream, the girls’ debut is likely to be one of the biggest K-pop albums of the year.

K-pop megastars BTS’ fifth full-length album, “BE (Deluxe Edition)”, arrives in the boy band’s biggest year to date – expected around three months after they became the first all-South Korean act to top the US Billboard singles charts with Dynamite in August.
The band’s label, Big Hit Entertainment, said the album contains “the most BTS-esque” music yet. No details have been revealed about the track list so far, but nothing will stop “BE” becoming one of the biggest-selling albums of the year – and not just in K-pop.
